Adult Inpatient Services offers comprehensive acute psychiatric, medical detoxification and dual diagnosis treatment services. Brief, goal oriented treatment is provided in a safe, highly structured and supportive environment, designed to encourage positive behavioral growth and improve functioning. Daily medical supervision and 24-hour nursing services are provided.  Services include assessment and evaluation, medication evaluation and monitoring, individual and group therapies and supportive family interventions, therapeutic rehabilitation and aftercare planning. Specialized treatment services are available for patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.

Comprehensive Child and Adolescent Inpatient Services provides a safe, highlight structures and supportive environment to encourage positive behavioral growth and improved functioning for children ages 7-12 and adolescents ages 13-18.  In all of Fairfield County, St. Vincent's Medical Center, Behavioral Health Service, Westport Campus has the only acute-care beds for children who need inpatient services due to major psychiatric problems and/or substance abuse.  A multi-disciplinary treatment team trained and experienced in childhood and adolescent disorders provides comprehensive therapeutic services.   Treatment includes individual, group and family therapy, as well as accredited educational services. Specialized treatment services are provided to adolescents who have a history of alcohol abuse/chemical dependency.
