Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services announces that James McCreath PhD, LCSW, has been appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of the 76-bed inpatient psychiatric facility, located at 47 Long Lots Road, Westport.
Dr. McCreath comes to Hall-Brooke from Jersey City Medical Center where he served for 16-years as Vice President of Behavioral Health and Ambulatory Care Services. Prior to his position with Jersey City Medical Center, Dr. McCreath worked for St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, NJ where he quickly advanced from Assistant Director of Mental Health Services to Assistant VP for Professional/Mental Health Services. Dr. McCreath also served on the faculty of the Graduate School of Social Work at Rutgers University teaching research for over 10 years.
“We are extremely pleased that Dr. McCreath has joined the Hall-Brooke family,” said Stewart Levine, MD, Chief Medical Officer at Hall-Brooke and Chair of Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. “His experience, education and background will successfully lead Hall-Brooke, its ambulatory services and affiliates.”
Dr. McCreath received his baccalaureate in sociology from Seton Hall University, his MSW from Columbia University and his PhD from New York University School of Social Work.

Dr. McCreath has secured temporary living quarters in the Fairfield County area and will secure permanent housing with his wife and son later in the year. Hall-Brooke is a wholly owned subsidiary of St. Vincent’s Health Services and an affiliate of the Department of Psychiatry of Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons.
