Sheila Cooperman, M.D. has been appointed Associate Chief Medical Officer at Hall-Brooke Behavioral Health Services, 47 Long Lot Road, Westport and Vice Chair of Psychiatry for St. Vincent’s Medical Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport. Prior to this appointment, Cooperman served as Service Chief of Adolescent and Eating Disorder Services at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, CT. “We are ecstatic to have Dr. Cooperman as part of the Hall-Brooke and St. Vincent’s team,” said James McCreath, PhD, President and CEO of Hall-Brooke. “She brings a wealth of clinical knowledge and experience to our organization and we look forward to her role as a leader." Cooperman received her Medical Degree from the American University of the Caribbean, British West Indies, and completed her training at Norwich Hospital and Tufts University/New England Medical Center in Adult Psychiatry. She is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. “Dr. Cooperman is well-respected in the behavioral health community and truly an asset for our services,” says Stewart Levine, MD, Chief Medical Officer of Hall-Brooke and Chair of Psychiatry at St. Vincent’s Medical Center. “She will be instrumental in helping us develop focused programs in treating substance abuse disorders as well as the expansion of all of our behavioral health services.” Prior to joining Hall-Brooke and St. Vincent’s, Cooperman served as Clinical Affiliate for Adult Chemical Dependency at Cornell University-New York Hospital, Westchester Division in White Plains, NY and as the Medical Director of the Adolescent Chemical Dependency Unit at Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, NY.
